Clipping, decided by the crowd

The crowd marks the moment.
We cut the clip.

Crowdcut watches your stream's clip spikes, chat surges and comment timestamps — or reads any upload — and cuts the moment vertically with word-highlight captions. Post it while it's still happening, hold it for your approval, or let it run on autopilot while you're away.

How it works

Three beats. The machine does two of them.

Detection and cutting are automated end to end. The hook that ships is written and approved by a person, because a templated hook repeated across hundreds of videos is exactly what gets channels flagged.

01 · DETECT

Find the moment the way the audience did.

On Twitch we cluster clips by VOD offset and score by how many distinct people clipped the same window. On Kick we watch chat velocity. On YouTube we mine timestamps from comments. For an upload or a link, loudness, the transcript and a language model rank the windows with a payoff.

clip clustering · chat z-score · comment timestamps · loudness + transcript
02 · CUT

Vertical, captioned, in your style.

The window is cut from the source at full quality, transcribed word by word, and composed 9:16 — letterbox, blur fill, hard centre crop or a stacked facecam layout with the camera auto-detected. Captions land word by word with the spoken word highlighted, and a title treatment carries the hook.

12 presets · karaoke captions · facecam auto-layout · profanity masking · loudness normalised
03 · REVIEW

A person writes the hook and presses approve.

Every clip lands in the studio already rendered, with three hook drafts. You rewrite the one that ships, flip the caption mode, swap the style, nudge the facecam boxes — each change re-renders in seconds from the cached transcript. Approve, and it's ready to export or post.

The studio

Review is the product. Everything else feeds it.

A queue of rendered clips, a hook box, and the controls that matter. Built for triaging a hundred candidates a night without losing the taste that makes a channel worth following.

Styles

Twelve presets. Or teach it your look.

Crop, title treatment, caption typography and the word-highlight colour are all part of a style. On Growth and Agency you can also upload or link reference videos and the editor learns caption placement, colours, hook treatment and the voice your hooks should be written in.

Inside the studio

Everything between "detected" and "posted".

Three hook drafts

Written from the transcript, what viewers typed, and what's visibly happening on screen. You rewrite the one that ships.

Caption editor

Word-by-word or card mode, highlight colour and mode, size, position, case, words per line. Changes re-render in seconds.

Style swap & tweak

Change the whole look of a clip in review, or nudge one value. Save the result as your own style.

Facecam layout

Cameras are detected per clip and stacked over zoomed gameplay. Drag the boxes if the model got it wrong.

Reference-video learning

Drop in a clip you admire. The editor reads its caption placement, colours, hook treatment and voice, and applies them.

Growth and up

Post & schedule

Send approved clips to a connected TikTok account's drafts, now or at a time you pick. YouTube ships as an export pack until the API audit clears.

Team roles

Owner, editor, reviewer. Invite links, seat limits per plan, one workspace per channel or client.

Export pack

MP4 plus title, description, tags and transcript in one zip — everything a manual upload needs, pasted not retyped.

Pricing

One seat, one cap, no per-clip surprises.

A clip is a rendered moment reaching review for the first time. Re-renders — hook edits, caption flips, style swaps — are free. Every plan starts with a free trial: five clips, no card.

Agencies & campaign teams

Run a roster. Keep the payout rules straight.

Crowdcut started as a pay-per-view clipping operation, so the campaign details are built in rather than bolted on: one workspace per client, a project per channel, and the disclosure and overlay requirements carried into every export.

  • Campaign logo overlay burned into the frame, positioned per project
  • #ad disclosure carried into every caption and export pack
  • Per-project watched channels, styles and posting destinations
  • Owner / editor / reviewer roles so juniors triage and leads approve
  • White-label overlays on Agency

Questions

Straight answers.

Does it post to YouTube?

Not through the API yet. YouTube locks uploads from unaudited API projects to private with no appeal, so until our compliance audit clears, YouTube clips ship as an export pack — MP4, title, description, tags and transcript in one zip — and you mark them posted in the studio. Connecting a channel already works so the switch is instant when the audit lands.

How does TikTok posting work?

Approved clips go to your connected TikTok account's drafts inbox, now or on a schedule. You open the app, check the caption, and post. That is the path TikTok allows without a separate content audit, and it keeps a human on the final tap.

What counts as a clip?

A rendered moment reaching your review queue for the first time. Editing the hook, flipping caption mode, swapping the style or nudging the facecam layout re-renders the same clip and costs nothing. Rejected clips still count — the work of finding and cutting them was done.

What happens when I hit my monthly cap?

New renders pause with an upgrade prompt and resume when you upgrade or the period rolls over. Nothing is lost; paused clips stay in the queue.

Does it work on uploads and links, not just live streams?

Yes. Drop a file or paste a YouTube, Twitch, Kick or TikTok link. We measure loudness, transcribe the whole thing, and rank windows with a payoff — a punchline, a reveal, a reaction — then cut the ones you asked for.

Do I need the rights to the footage?

Yes. Clip your own channel, channels that have cleared you, or footage inside a campaign that pre-clears it. Crowdcut cuts what you point it at; it does not check ownership for you.

Can I cancel?

Any time, from Settings. You keep access until the end of the period you paid for. The trial needs no card and simply expires.

What do reference videos actually change?

The editor reads a reference clip's caption placement, case, colours, highlight style, hook treatment and crop, and writes a short brief describing the voice of its text. You can apply that to a whole project, to one clip, or save it as a custom style. Available on Growth and Agency.

Your audience already picked the clips.
