Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 13, 2026
Crowdcut is a personal tool for finding, editing, and publishing
short‑form clips from livestream content. This policy explains what information
the app touches, why, and how it is handled.
Crowdcut (“Crowdcut,” “we,” “us”) is operated by an independent developer
based in Texas, United States. By connecting an account or using the app, you
agree to the practices described here.
01Information we access
Crowdcut is designed to run on its operator’s own devices and to act only
on accounts the operator connects. The app may access:
- Connected‑account authorization. When you connect a
TikTok account, Crowdcut receives an OAuth access token
and basic account identifiers from TikTok. The token lets the app upload
videos to your own account’s drafts/inbox. Crowdcut does
not receive or store your TikTok password.
- Stream and video content. Clips and related metadata
(titles, timestamps, transcripts, captions) that you choose to process from
Twitch, Kick, or YouTube sources you configure.
- Operational data. Local application data such as the
clip queue, review status, and logs, stored on the operator’s device.
02How we use it
- To detect candidate moments, cut and format clips, and generate draft
captions and titles.
- To upload finished clips to your connected account’s drafts
for your manual review and posting.
- To operate, debug, and improve the app’s clipping pipeline.
We do not sell your information, use it for advertising, or
build advertising profiles. Access tokens are used solely to perform the
upload actions you initiate.
03Third‑party services
Crowdcut relies on third‑party platforms to function. Data is shared with
them only as needed to provide the service, and each has its own privacy
policy:
- TikTok — to upload clips to your account’s drafts via
the Content Posting API.
- Twitch, Kick, YouTube — to read public clip, chat, and
comment signals from sources you configure.
- AI processing (Groq) — clip frames and transcript text
may be sent to an AI provider to generate captions and short descriptions.
We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect against
misuse of the service.
04Storage & retention
Application data and downloaded clips are stored locally on the operator’s
device. Access tokens are kept only as long as needed to run the app and are
removed when an account is disconnected or the credentials are deleted. You
can revoke Crowdcut’s access at any time from your TikTok account’s
connected‑apps settings.
05Security
Credentials and tokens are stored in local configuration and are not
transmitted except to the corresponding platform APIs over encrypted
connections. No method of storage or transmission is perfectly secure, and we
cannot guarantee absolute security.
06Your choices
- Revoke access to your TikTok, YouTube, Instagram or
Facebook account at any time in that platform’s settings; Crowdcut can no
longer read or upload once revoked.
- Disconnect any account inside Crowdcut (Settings →
Connected accounts). This deletes the access token and every number we
pulled through it immediately.
- Request deletion of any data associated with your
connected account by contacting us at the address below.
06bData deletion
To delete the data Crowdcut holds about a connected Instagram, Facebook,
TikTok or YouTube account:
- Log in at crowdcut.studio,
open Settings → Connected accounts and click
Disconnect next to the account. The access token, the
daily metrics and the per-post statistics for that account are deleted at
once.
- To delete your whole Crowdcut workspace, including clips, projects
and members, email contact@crowdcut.studio
from the workspace owner’s address. We confirm within 7 days and remove
everything, including backups, within 30 days.
- Removing Crowdcut from your Facebook settings (Settings → Business
integrations) also revokes our access; email us to have the stored
numbers deleted if you do not want to log in.
07Children
Crowdcut is not directed to children and is not intended for anyone under
the age of 13 (or the minimum age of digital consent in your jurisdiction).
We do not knowingly collect information from children.
08Changes
We may update this policy as the app evolves. Material changes will be
reflected by updating the “Last updated” date above.
Scope note. Crowdcut is a self‑operated tool that acts on
accounts its operator connects. It is not a consumer product that collects
data from a general public user base.
