Where they differ
Streams versus videos. A four-hour stream is 240 minutes of source: on a per-minute credit plan that's 240 credits for one stream. Crowdcut counts finished clips that reach your review queue, and the chat replay tells it where the moments are.
Signals. OpusClip scores clips for virality. Crowdcut reads the stream's own audience: chat speed against the channel's pace, laughing, hype, shock and "clip it".
Approval. Crowdcut never posts by itself; clips go to TikTok drafts after a person approves them.
Which to pick
For podcasts, webinars and edited YouTube videos where you want many quick cuts, OpusClip's credit model is straightforward. For live streams, especially long Twitch or Kick streams where the chat already marked the moments, Crowdcut is built around that. Try it with the free stream to TikTok tool.
Questions
Does OpusClip charge by minute?
Yes: 1 credit per minute of the original video imported, per OpusClip's help center.
Does Crowdcut charge for re-renders?
No. A clip counts once, when it first reaches review; edits and re-renders are free.
Which is cheaper for a 4-hour stream?
It depends on how many clips you keep. OpusClip charges for the 240 minutes processed; Crowdcut charges for the clips that reach your review queue.
